Tasks and Objectives

The FKIE covers the entire task spectrum of Command and Control, Intelligence and Reconnaissance. This includes the advancement of modern tracking procedures in a net of different sensors, the direction finding/locating methods and signal processing algorithms, the consolidating and processing of collected data and information, the processing and consistent distribution of information in distributed information systems, the secure propagation in radio nets and finally the conception and realization of suitable and intelligent user interfaces. Our goal is to support the military command and control process with appropriate systems that are suitable to specific requirements of the German Armed Forces.

For that purpose we work on particular and also on holistic scientific-technologic questions that occur in the context of concepts for simulation, transformation and especially for the conduction of operations (Network Centric Warfare).
